             Day 4 ~ 6 in Taiwan ~ 3 days in Taichung

Taichung Park
Technically, I only allocated two full days (day 1 and day 3 half day each, day 2 full day) in Taichung, I spent most of the time walking and visiting selected areas. Taichung Park (臺中公園), Eslite Bookstore, Fengjia Night Market, Yizhong Street and Electronic Street. I checked with some locals and found out that the Zhonghua Night Market is not really worth to go as the vendors carry mostly useless wares although there are quite a few good stalls that offer traditional Taiwanese snacks. You can spend a day at Yizhong Street as it is similar to Ximending Area in Taipei yet they have many nice food and shopping area. Don't be afraid to haggle with the vendors if you are buying more than 3 items. Although they are very nice and friendly, do not try to haggle more than 20-30% of the price offered as they will not entertain you.

As all my photos taken in Taichung were deleted accidentally, I can't show you any of them. It is a pity but they are stored in my memories forever...

FYI ~ Public buses in Taichung can be used by the Easy Card that we used in Taipei and using a swipe card allowed all passengers to travel for 8 kilometers for free. Tourist shuttle bus r臺南市 ─ 99台江線 is also available.

I wanted to make a trip down to Tainan for a half day trip before going up to Cingjing but due to time constraint, I did not go. However, for those who are interested to go to Tainan, the below are some attractions that you can visit in Tainan.

1. Anping Museum
2.  Anping Tree House (admission fee of NT50, student NT25)
3. Anping Fort (admission fee of NT50, student NT25)
4. Anping Gubao Ancient Street
5. Anping Kaitai Tianhou Palace
6. Anping Harbor and also a night market are in the same nearby tourist area) Anping Old Street
7. 赤坎楼 Chi Kan Tower

If you are like me and you have sufficient time but you don't want to lug your bulky luggage to the above attractions, you can consider storing your luggage at the Train Luggage Storage. It costs NT17 (SGD$0.71) to store you bag for the entire day until their closing time at 7:00pm.
The lockers next to the storage room cost NT20 (CAD$0.68) every three hours (cannot pay more than 3hrs).

My next trip to Taiwan will cover Tainan.
